where new life all begins / 新生活的起點

On my way to Brooke Hall from the airport, I seized the chances to ask the chauffeur all the questions I could imagine upon seeing something interesting. He is the first English person I encountered. He's not especially bubbly or talkative, but his love for London is obvious. He said that there are tons of things to do here. I thus asked him to recommend one of his favorite activities. Having a passion for the Thames River, he suggested jogging along the river and enjoying the scenery. Oh well, I should've come before my knees were disabled.

Speaking of my knees, I requested a room on the ground floor before arrival. Sarah, one member of the accommodation teams, asked if they'd got better upon seeing me for the first time. This is certainly a very warm and lovely greeting for a new comer to the city.

I love my new desk, which faces the court and the sky beyond.

It is said that my room is bigger than those of others. I am wondering if it's reserved for physically-challenged students. Though the English economy seems to have hit the bottom, I am almost burned at the end of every shower. There seems to be no lack of hot water here.

When I moved in yesterday, there wasn't any house good. I even kind of regretted not staying in an English house a friend had offered to lend me. I was not alone though. This spider is my roommate. It even spun webs in the sink.

Something seems to be missing in the room. I need some time to turn it into a very homey place.

Carol, who came all the way from Budapest to welcome me, was missing, so when she was looking for me in the dorm, I went to her hotel. She happened to come across a young boy who's the only person that moved in apart from me on my floor. I didn't get to meet him though. I attempted to say hello after we came back in the evening, but he played music so loud that he couldn't hear my knock. I thought, "Goodness, my nightmare has come true. How am I going to sleep before midnight in the future?" Well, this morning I woke up at 6 and it was my turn to play the music:) I bet this floor is going to be very "lively" after all the students arrive.

PS: I want to apologize to my girls. I really love the red baggage you gave me, and I did try to pack all my stuff in, but I gave up in the end. I needed to bring so many items with me that weight was a huge concern. In the end, I had to opt for a suitcase that weighs less. I am very sorry about that...
