Holiday

by Weichuen You 2000

That Christmas she was too alone to celebrate it. She was too poor to have a feast, but she was rich enough to break a boy's heart with her hand-drawn roses...

Thank you for the comments. I was actually hesitating if I should participate in ILlo this weekend because I was quite anti-holiday:-). I don't want to ruin the merry atmosphere with a really gloomy illo.

Have a nice holiday everyone! I did enjoy mine!

This reminds me of one of my most favorite books of all time The Hundred Dresses. A touching and poignant take on the hoiday theme. Lovely.

I have to admit that this is crazy. I didn't expect my old painting to be so popular. It was done during my loneliest hours, and maybe that is why it touches you. Thank all of you for the feedback!

This is wonderful; the words are a perfect accompaniment to the illustration. I love that the room is gray save for the splashes of color provided by the roses.

Happy New Year!
