Cold

Adeline was a winter baby. When most people are daunted by the idea of the cold winter, she loves the thought of the hot sweet soup going down her freezing throat to the stomach that opens every cell to embrace the lovely warmth. Besides, the beautiful plum flowers blossom right during the coldest season. The fallen petals and snow flakes blend. To Adeline, that's the most fantastic scene in the world...

What soup does Adeline eat? Here is the answer to the mystery. Chinese people eat a hot dessert with tiny pieces of red and white flour butter cooked in boiling water on winter Solstice. This is supposedly to keep us warm.

Special thanks to Adeline who gave me the inspiration during our break from work yesterday as we sipped over the hot herbal tea she made for us.

How lovely! It's interesting that in the top picture there are blossoms and snowflakes which are continued in the bottom painting. I love the movement you've created in each. So pretty:>
