又過了一學期，期間因為要說很多話，錯失了很多不說話才能看到的細節。學期結束前，我終於能夠安靜地用心想，雖然之前有許多焦慮和恐懼，但我還是要稱讚自己一下，因為不管中間有多少壓抑，最後我都還是打開心了。

During the past semester, I missed a lot of details because I had to talk much. Before the semester officially ended, I could finally hush and work in silence. Despite my considerable anxiety and fear, I feel I need to give myself a hug for opening up after long struggles. 

        儘管我的學生風景不停流轉，我還是真心喜歡我的工作和遇見的孩子，而這是不說話的領悟。

        Though students come and go, I realize I still love my job and many kids I encounter sincerely, which I see when I do not need to talk. 

My "Ding" Moment / 靈光乍現

期中考的某一天，課堂的鐘打了，考卷都發了，我發現有個女孩還在看手機，此時我不得不把手機搶過來，心裡不禁嘀咕這個人很不進入狀況。因為我很喜歡東觀察西觀察的，我就在接下來的一個小時裡研究她，後來我從她的T-shirt發現她是拔河隊的隊員，而且作答的樣子也很像是體育選手。

One one mid-term day, after the bell rang, I was almost through distributing the test papers. Still, one girl was staring at her cellphone. I couldn't help confiscating it from her, murmuring silently that this student was really out of the loop. Since I love being an observer, I spent the next hour studying her. From the words on the back of her T-shirt, I found she's an athlete of the tug-of-war team. Also, she was fidgeting most of the time during the exam since there weren't many questions she could answer. 

下課之後我把女孩叫來，吩咐她在那天結束之前都不要再開手機，把電話遞給她的當兒，不小心碰觸到她的手掌心，摸到硬硬的繭，整個人像觸到電，在那一秒間看到了她的人生。

After the exam, I called her forth, bidding her not to turn on the cellphone before the day was over. While passing the cell to her, I accidentally touched her palm. When I felt the hard calluses,  I was electrified as if I saw her whole life play out in front of my eyes at that moment. 

Caterina's Chinese words / 凱特的中國字

本來是我先說想學意大利文，同時凱特說她想學中文，一直都是行動派的我這次居然讓凱特捷足先登，因為她已經去報名了。

I mentioned wanting to learn Italian back in August, and meanwhile Caterina said she'd like to learn Chinese. I am always known for my efficiency in taking action, but this time Caterina beat me. She has signed up for Chinese language courses. 

一直想做中國字的書，於是我請凱特選出十個最喜歡的字，今天快要把腦子想破了，因為中國字本身就很有畫面，可以玩的遊戲很多。

I've wanted to do a book on Chinese words. I asked Caterina to list ten favorite words. Today I tried to brainstorm for solutions. Chinese words are rich in images themselves, so there must be a lot of ways to create the pictures. 

為了牛刀小試，先拿「謝」來實驗，我還問了家人一個問題，如果每個中國字都有顏色，「謝」字是什麼顏色？

To begin with, I experimented with the word "thanks." I asked my family a question. If every Chinese character is endowed with a color, which color will you give to "thanks?" 

畫得正開心的同時，楷維從椅子上摔下來，我拿畫壞的紙畫了一張樂極生悲的楷維畫像，本來他說我把他畫得很醜，最後還搶著把肖像帶回家⋯

While we were drawing and partying, Kai fell from his chair. I used an abandoned cardboard to draw a portrait of him shedding tears in pain. Though he had kept saying I made him look really ugly, he still insisted on taking the artwork home at the end of the day...

Rehab / 復健

醫生給了我一些復健的講義，其中有錯誤儀態的示範，我想上帝要讓我看到不同的風景，於是我把圖片自己畫了一遍，健康雜誌的編輯快來找我畫插畫吧！

The doctor gave me some handouts on rehabilitation, on which wrong body postures are illustrated in the form of photos. I guess God intends to show me what I have never paid attention to with this experience, so I re-illustrated the images. What I want to say is, editors of health magazines, I am a potential illustrator for your articles!

Below are some improper postures which will bring negative effect on your long-term health:

勿站三七步。

Don't lean on one leg. 

勿駝背。

Don't slouch.

勿翹二郎腿。

Don't cross your legs. 

勿壓腿坐。

Don't sit with one leg placed under the other. 

勿側睡。

Don't sleep with one leg placed under the other. 

KISS / 吻

花了三天和十個月大的宥宥相處，終於得到慢熱王子的滿心接納，從願意和我單獨玩耍，對著我滿臉微笑，到用小手探索我的臉，最後得到媽媽的允許，我可以和宥宥接吻，本來只是鬧著玩的隔空接吻，結果這小子居然識相得在我嘴巴靠近之際，帥氣地拔掉奶嘴，哇，我就麼湊上去他口水豐潤的小嘴，也因此忘不了他。看來接吻是人生來的本能呢！

I spent three days with my ten-month-old nephew Yoyo, and in the end, I got what I deserved—his whole heart of love. At first, he cried upon seeing me, but then after one or two days, he was willing to play with me alone, smiled at me with every facial feature creased into a lovely crescent. He also explored my face with his small hand, which is a gesture reserved only for the most intimate family. Best of all, with his mom’s permission, I was allowed to KISS him! I wasn’t so serious in the beginning, but Yoyo was cool enough to pull away his pacifier when my lips neared his. Voila, I couldn’t help but smack him on the “juicy” lips. From then on, I knew he is going to be another unforgettable love in my life. It seems that we were all born with the knack for kissing!
